Would you like to know the truth?

Wednesday, October 29, 2008

Accusation: Lee was against campaign reform and changed the date on the bill to effectively kill it.

Rebuttal: Darn right Lee wanted the bill killed!
The “campaign reform” in the bill was that individuals (that would be you and me) were limited in what they could contribute to campaigns, but PACs, political parties, and third party interest groups (such as New Mexico Youth Organized) could give however much they wanted.
EVEN WORSE: New Mexico Youth Organized, the third party special interest group paid for that hit piece on Fischmann's behalf!
Fischmann rails against special interests. He's going to clean up Santa Fe... But his campaign literature comes from their pockets!

Local Citizen Endorses Rawson

Lee:

I know you are very busy, but I just wanted to drop you a note to compliment you on your campaign and to thank you for your public service. I suspect we would often differ on the pros and cons of individual topics. However, beginning with your attendance at the local meeting of various sportsmen after the antelope fiasco this past summer, followed by the informational emails that you send out regarding issues brought before the legislature, both Nancy and I have come to respect the positive way you are conducting your campaign and the non-partisan way that you present the issues. I am particularly impressed with the high road you have taken in response to negative campaigning by your opponent. Both Nancy and I are registered Democrats, but we both voted early and voted for you – you’ve earned our trust and respect. I truly believe we need honest, hard-working, conscientious individuals to present both sides of difficult public issues if we are to make progress that is in the best interest of all of us. Your actions have demonstrated an excellent example of that in the Republican Party. We wish you well in the election and many more years of exceptional public service.

Best regards,
David Soules

Animal Protection Voters Endorse Senator Rawson

Monday, October 20, 2008

Several pro-animal canidates have won endorsement from Animal Protection Voters, a statewide animal advocacy organization.

In some races, incumbents with stellar voting records on animal issues won endorsements for consistently supporting legislation that favors animals. Each endorsed canidate has pledged to take a pro-animal position on animal protection issues or has already demonstrated a commitment to promoting strong laws for animals at the state level.

One of the endorsed candidates is Senator Lee Rawson-Senate District 37.
